I listened to the record last Wednesday on my flight to Los Angeles. Gave it one more go round before it went out into the world… one last little listen as being just mine. It’s brought me so much joy and company and peace, and I hope it will do the same for you.

The raising of hands is the universal sign of surrender. At first when I saw people in church lifting their hands I thought they were weird. I’d ask myself “What’s going on? Why are they doing this? These people are crazy.” But then I realized why. It’s for a God they’re reaching out to. Someone they love. A Father to the fatherless. The One who saves. The God of ages. It’s breathtaking. To see tears, arms open wide, hands reaching for something they do not see. Faith expressing itself. There’s nothing religious about a love so great. They are people in love. They are people who are thankful. They are people who want more of Him, seeking Him. These are people praising Him, surrendering their lives to someone who deserves it.

A few weeks ago our Youth Group Girls had a retreat! Such a fun awesome night I got to share with them, I got to capture some great memories!
The Bible. It’s God’s Word. The Truth. Our Sword. The Only Constant. The Instructions. Powerful. Holy. Perfect. And Our Weapon Against The Evil One.
It has no flaws. It has no inaccuracy. It is the only truth. It is God’s love letter left to us to give us a blessed life. Yet so many of us just glance at it from time to time… We let it just sit on the side of our desk to collect dust, or use it as a decoration to show that we have one. It is the Sword of the Spirt! Our strongest weapon in our daily spiritual battle! But what good is a sword in battle… if you have it propped up in a display case?!
I have buried myself for years in my own mind trying to “figure life out” & trying to “get everything straight” when I foolishly forgot to just look in my instruction manual. I led myself astray to a dark path… full of the devil’s deceit and I almost lost my way. But by the love and mercy of God I was saved. I had to break a lot of friendships that I thought were what I needed but ended up just being wolves in sheep’s clothing. Thankfully I have a beautiful family and a real circle of friends that kept me grounded and showed me that God’s word is TRUTH.
“Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path” :: Psalm 119:105.
I want to CHALLENGE you to stop tumbling, facebooking, tweeting, pinning on pintrest, playing temple run, or doing whatever you’re doing and dedicate some time to the word. I know that every time I make time for God He gives me a blessing for my life in ABUNDANCE compared to what I was expecting. God has an amazing promise for each of us… beautiful thing is that everyone’s plan is different but God uses one book of promise that never fails, and that is a promise.
